This is Thermal Kapton Polyimide tape. Professional repairers use this tape to cover circuit boards when using heat to remove components. This tape acts as an heat protection so other components aren't damaged in the process. 

Perfect to hold cables, components and connection in place in iPhone, iPad, tablet, laptops and notebooks but can be used on any board work.
